Two in a row
Ok, so just published the last post, which blogger felt like not publishing for me last time. Just a bit of a new year's greeting for y'all. Now, a bit of an update.
Rain sucks. That's your update. SoCal has been hit by so many rain storms over the past week it's sick. Our entire year's worth of rain has already fallen. I feel like I'm in Seattle. And, faithful reader, guess who works outside once again? Yes, good times. Like a drowned rat I am.
Yeah, work is going well. I'm back canvassing for the environment once again. It's a bit strange, didn't think I'd be doing this again, but the job market sucks. Had a couple of interviews which turned out to be absolute BS. No, I won't pay $1000 to get licensed, work on commission only, and do a month of unpaid training. Call me foolish. So, back to fighting the good fight. I'm pretty torn about it. One minute, I try to find a way I can make a career out of this, the next I just want to have a job where I get paid a decent wage and work a normal work week. Actually considered doing the winter camp in Korea, but didn't feel like doing the whole visa thing, and thought about it a bit too late. No tears there, though.
Lois is doing a bit better, which is cool. She's going to be working in one of the charter schools around here as a classroom assistant if all goes as anticipated. Her final interview is tomorrow with the teacher she would be assisting, so we're feeling pretty good about it.
So, that's the word from here. Not a particularly uplifting post, sorry. I am thankful that Michelle is alright, which is cool. I also liked Asma's idea of cleansing ones' self of toxic friendships, but then I realized that I move so much, I don't really have any of those to get rid of.
Alright, off to work.
